Camela, a group on the brink of the abyss

Camela have been the soundtrack of popular festivals for decades, but they are also a source of rumors and news that we will detail below.

It was always rumored that none of the three original members could stand the other two. That is normal; after all, it is a job, and there is no reason to get along with your colleagues. The first to leave the trio was Miguel Cabrera, the keyboardist, who now says: “Yes, I regret it quite a lot. If my son were alive, I would ask the other two to come back. But not today.”

Add to this that Dioni has been sick since August with a pharyngitis that is lasting too long and has led him to cancel a good part of the scheduled concerts. Rumors confirm that he has barely any relationship with the singer and that when they go to record in the studio, they do it separately.

Perhaps the time has come to put a final full stop to a career full of hits. Or perhaps all of the above are rumors yet to be confirmed. What is clear is that the current tour is chaotic, that cancellations keep happening, and that there is a very good chance there is no practical solution to the band’s problem. Whatever the case, we will be here to tell you about it. In the meantime, we would love for you to send us a message telling us what Camela mean in your life and why they have been so important to you. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that they carry on and that they find the key that allows them to keep recording albums.
